Chewy on the inside, crisp on the
outside.
Adjusted for modern ingredients.
2 cups yellow cornmeal
1 cup oil
1 cup raisins
1/3 cup brown sugar
Direction: Toast cornmeal in skillet - stirring to
prevent burning. Heat oil. Grind raisins and mix with hot oil. Add
browned cornmeal and sugar. Stir together and press onto a cookie
sheet. Leave on cookie sheet until cook. Eat by the handful, like
candy.
